XRP Price Under Pressure As Binance Faces Manipulation Charge

The XRP price has dropped more than 1% in the last 24 hours to trade at $2.81 as of 4 a.m. EST on a 13% increase in the daily trading volume to $6.56 billion.

The drop in the Ripple token comes as crypto analyst Pumpius accused Binance of dumping XRP to stop its price from rising. In a viral post that has received more than 196k views, Pumpius said the exchange used sudden liquidity drains and large sell orders to block rallies, even after Ripple received positive news.

“Binance isn’t just dumping crypto, they’re deliberately manipulating XRP’s price,” Pumpius said. “This is a coordinated war.”

XRP Price Debate Heats Up As Binance Faces Manipulation Allegations

The claims have sparked debate in the crypto community. Some traders believe XRP’s price often looks manipulated, and others say Binance is just a big exchange where large trades naturally move the market.

Whenever positive news comes out, the XRP price usually faces a sudden burst of selling. Pumpius says this is not just a coincidence, but a plan to make sure XRP is seen as just another regular altcoin.

Adding to this, analyst Pepesso on X pointed to large Ethereum sales by Binance. 

He claims the exchange uses market makers like Wintermute to disguise their actions. He says these tactics create false selling pressure and cause a chain reaction of liquidations, which pushes even more traders out of the market.

Even with these challenges, XRP’s underlying strength remains. In recent months, Ripple’s network has grown and deals like the one with Chinese company Linklogis, which is using the XRP Ledger for supply chain finance, are positive signs. 

Reports also show that big investors have bought roughly 340 million XRP in just two weeks. However, these good developments are sometimes undermined by worries about what’s happening on exchanges.

XRP Price: On-Chain Data Shows Mixed Sentiment

XRP’s movement on the blockchain also has a story to tell. In the last week, the number of active addresses dropped from 45,000 in mid-July to about 20,000. This dip in activity hints that people may be feeling cautious, especially with talk of Binance’s actions adding more pressure.

Still, not all signals are negative. Some large holders are taking advantage of the lower prices to buy more XRP, expecting that things could improve soon. The Crypto Fear & Greed Index moving from “greed” to “neutral” shows traders are waiting to see if this dip will last. 

For now, however, unless more small investors get involved, the price could face more sudden drops. Heavy selling on exchanges and fewer active wallets make it harder for XRP to climb higher at the moment.

XRP Price Technical Analysis: Resistance Holds, Support Tested

After failing to hold highs above $3.66, the XRP price is now moving between clear resistance at $3.66 and support around $2.18.  

The 50-week simple moving average (SMA) around $2.18 is the immediate key support barrier, while the 200-week SMA, further below at $0.95, marks longer-term safety.

The Relative Strength Index (RSI) sits at 54.68, showing a neutral trend. Not yet overbought or oversold. The MACD is flat at 0.2395, confirming weak momentum, and the ADX at 20.70 just underlines the lack of powerful trend direction.

For now, the XRP price stays boxed in the $2.18–$3.66 zone. Buyers will need to clear $3.66 for a proper breakout move. If the price drops below $2.18 and loses the 50-SMA, further downside is likely, with the next major support near the 200-SMA at $0.95. Bulls are watching these levels closely.

The path ahead remains tricky as exchange action continues to weigh on sentiment, and technical signals point to more sideways or downward pressure. However, whale accumulation and Ripple’s expansion could revive bullish hopes if buyers step back in soon.
