- Elon Musk has been making a series of changes to Twitter since his $44 billion takeover.
- Musk is figuring out a way the platform can reward Twitter creators.
Following his $44 billion Twitter purchase, Elon Musk has been making fast and furious changes to the social platform. However, it is unlikely that those changes will stop anytime soon. The latest development is that Musk wants to configure the platform so that Twitter creators can earn financial compensation for their content.
The news about content monetization on Twitter has been a hot debate in the last week. As expected, when there is a change at the helm of any company, several aspects of the company’s structure also change. Unfortunately, this has also been the case with Twitter.
‘Lords and peasants’ system’
Musk has fired some Twitter executives and changed how users can get the Twitter blue verification tick since acquiring the platform. In addition, the new Twitter is set to change how the platform rewards its content creators. Using a Twitter thread, Musk argued against what he named the “lords & peasants system”, which currently exists on the platform.
He also committed to making wholesome changes to that system. His first step was to make changes to the Twitter blue price. Musk justified charging a fee for those with the Twitter blue badge. He explained that special benefits would be for those with the blue badge.
For instance, they will get priority for their queries and see almost 50 percent fewer advertisements than they currently see. Musk also noted that the fees would be a revenue stream for the social platform to compensate its content creators financially. When a user tweeted that rewarding creators is a massive incentivization for content creation, Musk responded by saying it is essential since creators must also make a living.
creator payments is HUGE to incentivize content creation. love this idea 🙂

While the specifics of the content creator reward system aren’t out yet, there is enough proof to suggest that Musk’s content monetization for Twitter creators plan would happen sooner than later.
Musk sparks fresh DOGE payment speculation
In a related development, some Twitter influencers claim that Musk has confirmed speculations on the integration of dogecoin payment on Twitter. Recently, a Twitter user asked Musk whether he has started working with developers on a doge payment integration on Twitter. Musk didn’t confirm or deny the move. Instead, Musk tweeted the eyes emoji, indicating something of interest.
Meanwhile, Ethereum CEO, Vitalik Buterin, has shared some concerns regarding Musk’s idea of charging a monthly fee for Twitter’s blue tick. Buterin suggests that Musk’s new idea would be effective if the platform performs due diligence before allowing anyone to pay their monthly fee for Twitter’s blue tick.
According to the Ethereum CEO, allowing anyone to pay and get the blue tick would destroy the anti-scam role, which was the platform’s original intention behind handing out the blue tick.
