- Stellar’s blockchain will be used by Task to support data tracking, rewards, and fund flow at Blackbaud.
- Blackbaud’s client base comprises 45,000 clients representing organizations with global social impact.
Task’s new partnership with leading cloud services company Blackbaud will use Stellar’s blockchain to support social good. In a blog post, Task said they will use Stellar‘s blockchain to support more than 45,000 customers that make up Blackbaud’s ecosystem.
Blackbaud is a leading cloud software company that uses its technology for the well-being and social benefit of communities. Its customers include nonprofit organizations, higher education institutions, K-12 schools, healthcare facilities, arts organizations and religious institutions. The company enables its customers to stay connected “to increase their impact through cloud software, services, expertise and data intelligence.”
Initially, Task will focus on integrating with Blackbaud’s flagship product, Raiser’s Edge database-driven fundraising software. However, Task sees many opportunities for integration with other Blackbaud products and services such as Financial Edge, Education Edge, Blackbaud NetCommunity, eTapestry, Luminante Online, Luminate CRM and others.
Use cases for Stellar’s blockchain
In the post, the partnership between Task and Blackbaud is framed with a focus on “organizational transparency”. Therefore, Stellar Lumens’ blockchain will be employed to apply use cases such as information tracking, rewards for the organizations’ teams, the flow of information related to the money handled by these organizations to support developing nations in emerging economies. Task adds:
Typical use cases with Task hinge around the flow and tracking of finances to remote communities, tracking volunteer impact, and rewarding teams.
Task CEO and founder Steve Walker was enthusiastic about the cooperation and stated that Stellar’s technology is “fast, low cost with a good feature set.” Walker added the following about the work they will undertake with Blackbaud:
Massively excited to share this news. We’re now working on integration into the Blackbaud ecosystem having signed agreements to become a premier partner and part of their global marketplace (…). We’ll be the first partner bringing blockchain to their customers via an integrated route, and we’re extremely chuffed – a lot of potential here to spread the Stellar message.
