- Stellar Development Foundation partners with SheFi to empower women in blockchain.
- Stellar Community Fund aims to increase gender diversity among Stellar builders.
The Stellar Development Foundation (SDF) is making great progress to guarantee fair access to the worldwide financial system.
Through concentrating on offering goods and services to underbanked and unbanked groups, SDF hopes to provide solutions tailored to different communities. Given the glaring gender disparity in the tech and financial sectors, this goal becomes even more important.
Addressing Gender Disparities in Finance and Tech
The World Economic Forum estimates that 55% of the unbanked worldwide are women. Women must lead in creating solutions if we are to properly meet the financial requirements of over a billion unbanked women. Still, the scene as it is now clearly indicates an imbalance.
No surprise that blockchain has a diversity problem. We want to change that. Catch us on the stage with @shefiorg around #ethcc to see what commitment to gender diversity actually means, and read about it below. https://t.co/6naVCHGJwQ

Companies started by women only got 2% of the allocated venture capital financing in 2023. In the Web3 era, women account for just 27% of the workforce and just 13% of founding teams feature at least one woman.
A key effort of SDF supporting activities on the Stellar network is the Stellar Community Fund (SCF). SCF granted nearly 13 million USD worth of XLM in 2023 alone; this year it is expected to surpass that total.
SDF guarantees that the supported initiatives have practical uses that create good changes to sectors and people all around by encouraging a varied pipeline of applicants. The Ecosystem Growth team is dedicated this year to raising Stellar builders and SCF winners’ gender diversity.
Enter SheFi: Empowering Women in Web3
SDF is working with companies like SheFi in order to further its dedication to gender diversity. SheFi’s mission is to “empower women through education, experimentation, and community.”
Their eight-week online courses and worldwide events, including the SheFi Summit in Brussels, are meant to elevate players Web3 expertise.
The female-led SheFi booth served as the inspiration for SDF’s partnership with SheFi, which began at ETH Denver 2024. Since then, several SDF women have enrolled in SheFi’s learning programs.
Real-World Impact of Stellar
Numerous activities demonstrate Stellar’s dedication to use cases that are practical. Senior Manager on the Ecosystem Growth team, Anke Liu, will keynote the SheFi summit with the topic “Are There Real-World Use Cases for Blockchain?” Her talk will highlight developers and teams—especially those started and run by women who are creating significant Stellar network products.
Meanwhile, according to CoinMarketCap, Stellar’s native currency, XLM, currently values roughly $0.09301, a 1.16% increase over the last 24 hours and a bullish trend of 2.97% over the past week.
On the other hand, strategic alliances like the one with ZettaBlock, meant to improve Web3 development by means of superior data and analytics technologies, support this favorable market performance.
