Shiba Inu supporters may have to wait a little longer for the launch of the long-awaited Shibarium layer 2 scaling solution. Shibarium has been teased by developers on different platforms and on different occasions, but a release that is yet to be made known to the curious supporters of the popular memecoin.
However, Shiba Inu’s supporters might want to keep an eye out for the months before May. Although there is no certainty that the releases might come before the month of May, but a new tweet from the Shibarium lead developer hints that it might be the case.
Lucie, who goes by the username LicieShib on Twitter is the popular Shiba Inu influencer who shared a screenshot of the lead developer’s response. LucieShib took to Twitter to awaken Shiba Inu fans by sharing a screenshot of Shytoshi Kusama.
In the screenshot from what looks like a telegram group, a telegram user playfully said “maybe he is releasing Shibarium tomorrow.” Shytoshi Kusama responded saying “MAY be…just kidding it’ll be out before May lol.”

Shibarium is still necessary for scalability, yet Shiba Inu supporters are still unsatisfied
In spite of the comments from the lead developer serving as reassurance for some, the majority isn’t very pleased. Complaints about the slow pace of the launch have been flying around since the upgrade was first teased.
On multiple instances, developers have failed to stick to release dates that were once teased. Developers have also failed to soften the blows with their constant refusal to drop a specific date in the past. One user said.
It is just so frustrating that Shib lead developer, cannot just say things the way it is, without beating around the bush, now shib community members are divided, we now have pawswap competing with Shib and yet we keep hearing stories without fact from ShytoshiKusama. Ok oooh.
Their sentiments are not different from other Shiba Inu supporters who are still patiently awaiting the launch of Shibarium.
However, Shibarium remains an essential upgrade for the Shiba Inu ecosystem. Shibarium is a layer 2 scaling solution that is being built to help increase the transaction speed on the Shiba Inu network. With the introduction of Shibarium, the cost of transactions on the network will reduce as well.
