- Altcoin Daily has listed the top 15 cryptocurrencies that are most likely to make the headlines in April, with NFT and DeFi platforms topping the list.
- The top coins include Yearn Finance (YFI) which hit $2.5 billion in TVL, Uniswap (UNI) which hit an all-time low in exchange inflow volume and the yet-to-launch Refinable (FINE) token.
The altcoin season is upon us. Several altcoins have been hitting new all-time highs as others record incredible price spikes. Altcoin Daily has compiled a list of the top 15 altcoins to keep an eye on in the current bull market, especially in April.
DeFi coins top the chart, again
The decentralized finance (DeFi) era continues, with most DeFi platforms setting new records this year. According to Aaron Arnold, the founder of Altcoin Daily, Yearn Finance (YFI) is among the altcoins to keep an eye on. Yearn Finance has now surpassed $2.5 billion in total value locked.

The fact that the total value locked is getting this big shows that trust is increasing in this DeFi protocol. And trust is so important in any cryptocurrency. Most cryptocurrencies, most DeFi projects, don’t have it. But, one metric that we can track it with is how much value people are willing to lock in the project.
Aaron is also bullish on Uniswap, one of the leaders in DeFi. The platform recently recorded an all-time low in 7-day exchange inflow volume at 25 million UNI. As Altcoin Daily observes, this metric almost always signals a price spike for the cryptocurrency.
NFTs making waves
Non-fungible tokens have been making waves in the mainstream arena, getting endorsements from several celebrities. One of the platforms leading the charge is Bondly Finance. It recently teamed up with top-charting hip-hop star Tekashi 6ix9ine to launch two new NFT collectible art pieces. Tekashi will launch the two 3D animations tomorrow, April 9, which are based around his first two studio albums.
RedFOX Labs, a Vietnam-based technology firm also recently revealed that its RFOX token will list on Bittrex exchange. RFOX was only available on Uniswap, but is now seeking to expand its market reach. RedFOX launched its NFT marketplace in February, allowing users to trade digital collectibles seamlessly.
Global fast-food conglomerate McDonald’s is also joining the NFT sector. McDonald’s France recently revealed it would launch NFTs for its most popular menu items. The company teased on Instagram that the first two NFTs would represent a box of Chicken McNuggets and its most famous item, the Big Mac. McDonald’s NFTs will be available on OpenSea, one of the leading NFT marketplaces.

American football legend Tom Brady is getting into NFTs as well. Brady is to team up with Apple, DraftKings and Spotify executive advisors to launch Autograph, a new NFT platform. Not much information is available regarding the platform, but it’s most likely to be on the Ethereum blockchain.
Ethereum and Bitcoin
All the hype on NFTs makes Ethereum one of the best cryptocurrencies to invest in. Ethereum rules the NFT sector, with an overwhelming majority of the NFT marketplaces built on its network. In addition to the NFTs, couples are now getting married on Ethereum as well.
How can you not be bullish on Ethereum? If all this stuff was happening on Bitcoin, you know the Bitcoin maximalists would be touting this as just bringing so many people into the Bitcoin space. But it’s happening on Ethereum. A lot of things are happening on Ethereum
Bitcoin is still just as important, Altcoin Daily believes. While Altcoins have been getting all the hype, the flagship cryptocurrency is still the king and investors must strive to accumulate as much as they can, Aaron stated.
In my opinion, the name of the game is to accumulate as much Bitcoin as possible. As far as asymmetrical opportunity, risk-adjusted investment, Bitcoin is the best. I think some altcoins will make it in the end, and obviously, altcoins are great for massive gains but don’t lose sight of the big picture. Bitcoin is literally digital gold.
Other coins to keep an eye on include Litecoin, which always performs well in any bull market; Stellar Lumens, which music star Akon is building his crypto-cities on; Elrond Network, which has gained a series of new partners; LTO Network, which has attracted several big investors; and Chainlink, which is now a member of Grayscale’s Digital Large Cap Fund.
