OpenSea, the largest non-fungible token market platform by trading sales volume, has launched a non-fungible token reserve, designed to showcase non-fungible tokens as cultural artifacts and support the digital artists and collectors who’ve shaped the non-fungible token space. The NFT market platform has committed over $1 million to acquiring, curating, and celebrating digital art and culture.

OpenSea Launches An NFT Reserve

In a September 8 blog post, the OpenSea NFT team confirmed that it has launched a non-fungible token reserve to commemorate digital culture. OpenSea is one of the world’s first and largest market platforms for non-fungible tokens, allowing users to buy, sell, and trade digital assets like art and virtual items using blockchain technology. OpenSea is the largest market platform by trading sales volume.

The OpenSea NFT market platform is committed to preserving the non-fungible token culture. The establishment of the NFT reserve is a perfect example of their commitment. The NFT collections, which will be taken to reserve, will range from emerging artists to rare, high-profile NFTs, and always with an eye toward long-term cultural relevance. To ensure maximum integrity, the committee has sole decision-making authority over NFT purchases.

Punks #5273 Qualifies To Enter The NFT Reserve

CryptoPunks #5273, a non-fungible token collection from the CryptoPunks non-fungible token collection, is the first NFT collection to qualify to enter the NFT reserve. CryptoPunks is a non-fungible token collection, featuring a limited edition of 10,000 pixilated NFTs previously from the digital asset firm Larva Labs but now managed by the Infinite Node Foundation, a non-profit organization also aimed at preserving non-fungible token culture.

The OpenSea team anticipates proving to the entire world that non-fungible token collections are more than just digital assets and they’re cultural artifacts that tell the story of how digital art and creativity are evolving. The OpenSea joins other organizations and individuals committed to the preservation of NFT culture. Beeple, an NFT artist, previously launched major exhibitions in China and the United States to showcase digital art and culture.
