Cronos Soars 56% To 3-Year High As Solana And Bitcoin Surge

Cronos soared 56% to hit a 3-year high at $0.388, Solana surged 4.6% amid the Alpenglow Upgrade vote, and Bitcoin jumped 2% despite Polymarket bettors seeing a 60% chance of BTC sliding below $100k before the end of the year.

CRO is trading at $0.3489 as of 4:10 a.m. EST, with trading volume soaring 137% to $2.4 billion, as it extends gains following news yesterday of a blockbuster deal with Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG) Crypto.com that will create a $6.42 billion CRO treasury firm.

Meanwhile, Solana surged 6.4% to trade at $212.88, while Bitcoin jumped 2% to $113,115.

The top performers are Haia (KAIA), Jito (JTO, and Pump.fun (PUMP), with gains ranging from 10.7% to 11.4%, according to CoinMarketCap data. 

The top losers among major cryptos were Morpo (MORPHO), OKB (OKB), and Aerodrome (AERO), with falls of 4.4%, 2.9%, and 2.4%, respectively.

The crypto space overall rose 2% in the last 24 hours to retake a market capitalization of $4 trillion.

Cronos Soars As Bulls Show Strength

CRO stumbled in early 2025, then quietly gathered pace in July. By August, it had already erased most of the year’s losses.

On-chain activity on the Cronos network hit yearly highs, showing strong growth in both retail participation and DeFi adoption.

The token’s dominance also surged to over 0.30% on TradingView, which indicates that the token has been receiving some notable interest from investors.

Recently, the CRO price surged past both the 50-day and 200-day Simple Moving Averages (SMAs), now closely aligned around $0.11.

CRO has already cleared the 0.236 Fibonacci level at $0.145 and pushed through the 0.382 level near $0.192, with the latest rally touching as high as $0.388. Currently, it is trading just under the 0.786 retracement zone at $0.32, which represents a major resistance.

The Relative Strength Index (RSI) at 86.82 places CRO in extremely overbought territory, suggesting that while demand remains strong, the probability of a short-term pullback or consolidation is possible.

Looking ahead, if the Cronos price sustains momentum, a retest of the recent high at $0.388 appears likely, with potential for further upside if resistance breaks cleanly. On the downside, a corrective move toward the $0.23–$0.26 range could happen.

Solana Surges 6.4% Amid Alpenglow Upgrade Vote

Solana’s 6.4% surge comes after the commencement of voting on what is being termed “the most significant upgrade in the network’s history.”

The Solana community has begun voting on the SIMD-0326 proposal named Alpenglow. The Alpenglow Upgrade is aimed at reducing block confirmation to 150 ms from the current 12.8 seconds. As a result, this will significantly speed up transaction finalization and the operation of decentralized applications.

According to data from Dune, 112 validators have expressed their decision, accounting for 11.1% of the total votes.

SOL has shown remarkable strength in 2025, after dropping to the $106 support zone. If the current momentum continues on the weekly chart, the Solana price could still climb up toward the previous ATH above $293.

Bitcoin Jumps 2%

The BTC price on the 3-day timeframe shows that the token has been following a well-defined ascending channel pattern since early 2023, respecting both the upper resistance and lower support trendlines.

Currently, the Bitcoin price is hovering near $113,115 after a recent pullback from the channel’s upper boundary and a 6.4% surge in the last day, suggesting consolidation within the broader bullish structure.

The 50-day SMA is acting as strong dynamic support at around $105,305, while the 200-day SMA at $80,124 remains well below, reinforcing the long-term uptrend.

Moreover, the RSI sits at 51, reflecting a neutral momentum state after cooling from overbought conditions, which is an indication that the market is in equilibrium.

The overall outlook remains bullish as long as the price holds above the 50-day SMA and the lower channel support.

A bounce from these levels could propel BTC toward retesting $120,000 and beyond, while a breakdown below $105,000 would open the path for a deeper correction toward $95,000.

While the Bitcoin price analysis shows that the token could still surge, a majority of Polymarket wagers are betting that BTC could fall below $100,000 by the end of the year.

Traders wagering on whether or not Bitcoin will dip below $100K put the chances of the event occurring at 60%, down from the start of the week’s 72%.

This comes as more public companies continue to add BTC to their treasuries. The latest is the South Korean company, Bitplanet, which plans to establish the country’s first institutional Bitcoin treasury, securing $40 million in fresh capital for BTC purchases.

If BTC continues its uptrend and touches the $125,000 level, over $15 billion worth of Bitcoin shorts will be liquidated, according to Vivek Sen, a pseudonymous user on X,
