Long-Awaited Wizards NFTs Set To Mint On Mar 25th

In a March 11 blog post, the Taproot Wizards team confirmed that they will open its “Wizards” non-fungible token collection for public sale this month. This NFT collection was created two years ago but was never commercialized for unknown reasons. The wizards’ NFT collection burst into the Bitcoin blockchain in February 2023 with the first 4MB block in Bitcoin’s history.

Founded in 2023, Taproot Wizards is a digital asset incubation studio renowned for creating the Quantum Cats, one of the largest Ordinals collections by market capitalization. Behind Taproot Wizards are digital artists and co-founders Udi Wertheimer and Eric Wall, who are envisioned to showcase technological innovations expanding Bitcoin’s untapped capabilities, such as the OP_CAT function.

Based on the team, the highly anticipated Taproot Wizards NFT collection will feature a limited edition of 2,121 “wizard” images inspired by a meme circulated during Bitcoin’s early days. This design refers to a figure that was an unofficial symbol of the cryptocurrency. Each token features a wizard with a cloak and hat in honor of the iconic “Bitcoin Wizard” meme from 2013.

NFT collectors holding a pair of dead and alive Quantum Cats can get a discounted wizard for 0.1 BTC. To get a wizard for the discounted price of 0.1 BTC, the trader must entangle his Quantum Cats on-chain. Entangling sends a pair of “dead” and “alive” Cats to the Quantum Realm, where they will be locked on-chain until a few days after the mint, but then they’ll return to their wallet automatically.

The highly awaited Taproot Wizards ordinals will be offered at a fixed price of 0.2 BTC through a whitelist. The main “Wizard School” whitelist has a mint price of 0.2 BTC and doesn’t require owning any Quantum Cats.
